RWA: How To Read Like a Writer

PLEASE READ SHERMAN ALEXIE’S ESSAY “SUPERMAN AND ME” AND READ MIKE BUNN’S ESSAY “HOW TO READ LIKE A WRITER.” PLEASE TAKE NOTES ON BOTH PAYING PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THEM.  WE WILL BE DISCUSSING BOTH IN CLASS.

“How To Read Like a Writer” by Mike Bunn

After you have read both essays, please explain what you learned from them  Then, please cite some specific examples from texts we have read in this class to show how or what you may have learned from Bunn’s essay.

Please read Mike Bunn’s essay “How To Read Like a Writer,” which you will find here.  After you have read it, in one to three paragraphs, explain what you learned from it, citing particular quotes from the essay in your discussion.  Then, in two to three paragraphs please discuss some specific examples from the personal essay that you chose to read last week to show how or what “reading like a writer” means to you.
